In 2018, I embarked on the journey of growing cannabis with just a handful of seeds, motivated by the desire to assert my constitutional rights as a South African citizen. This exploration was entirely personal, devoid of prior research or guidance from YouTube tutorials. Fast forward to February 2023, a pivotal moment unfolded when I decided to enroll in the 12-Week Cannabis 101 Course at Cheeba Academy. This choice played a crucial role in reshaping my mindset.
Following the successful completion of the course, I officially initiated my cannabis-growing journey in August 2023. I can now proudly identify myself as a grower after propagating a few hundred clones and maintaining the health of several mother plants. While I recognize that more experience is needed, the growth process is not solely time-based but also influenced by seasonal harvest cycles and complexity.
The decision to start growing cannabis has proven to be the most impactful choice I’ve ever made. It has allowed me to create a serene environment for myself and my family. I now find genuine presence in my home, seamlessly blending with the natural rhythm of gardening, or vice versa.
The Move
Here’s why I advocate for females, especially black women, to consider starting their journey in growing cannabis:
The culmination of a harvest is a flower, emitting a delightful aroma of terpenes and flavonoids from the trichomes. Anticipating that first joint brings a sense of rejuvenation, momentarily forgetting life’s troubles.
Cannabis, like any substance, can be used or misused to offer a temporary escape. This respite allows our minds and bodies to rest, a prerequisite for embarking on any healing journey. Even if there’s no specific healing goal, the experience of rest is a profound revelation, considering the demanding nature of modern-day survival schedules.
Beyond sedation for rest purposes, cannabis serves as a potent medicine. It can assist in stress relief and offers indirect medicinal benefits, potentially supporting conditions:

- Cannabis, when used consciously, enhances spiritual experiences, facilitating a connection to higher states of consciousness and a broader understanding of existence.
The current societal landscape places a substantial burden on the black female body. Without delving into societal issues, it’s evident that when our grandmothers, mothers, wives, and girlfriends carry traumas, their children unconsciously suffer through generational transmission.
Believing that all living things aspire to thrive, it’s crucial to recognize that producing more children exposed to traumas is detrimental to our survival. Cannabis can amplify our emotions, helping us manage them and, in turn, manage ourselves as emotional beings. When used consciously, cannabis connects us to ourselves, our gods, and/or the universe. Your prayers in a conscious cannabis connection become manifestations as long as you are consciously connected with self.
I envision a future where we can cultivate our food, drugs, and medicine in our gardens while machines handle the “work.” This way, every human can express themselves fully and reveal their inner creativity because they are not in survival mode. This enlightenment drug, can be grown practically for free. You have a constitutional right to grow and use this plant privately.
In essence, we can improve our general health (body and mind) by growing and using cannabis privately in our homes. PTouch Products can assist in starting your journey to self discovery and healing through home cultivation of cannabis.
